I think this is fantastic. Goes perfectly with our District's newly adopted CGI program, but saves me a ton of work!I have a question, any way I can get black line(not colored) monthly covers? I'd like to print out a cover for each student every month but on xerox, not color printer. That way they can color it!

Peggy, I actually just rotate with my second graders but I've talked with other teachers who like having their kiddos do one math and one ELA each day. I have included enough for math and ELA for the entire month (school days) to meet each teacher's needs. Some teachers have told me they double-side these front to back (math on front/ELA on back) and put them in monthly morning work folders. It is really up to you and how much you want do each day. My students complete one each morning and then we review it together on our Smartboard before starting our morning math lesson. :) Thanks so much!-Yvonne

Love, love, love this product! I just have a quick question...when I printed the labels I noticed that the spacing was a little "off" and carried over to the next label. Thank you! Do you think it could be printer settings? I printed all of the labels before downloading to make sure and they were centered. Went through several label sets to get them adjusted when I made these last year. Can you try printing on another printer? Hey, Yvonne! My teaching partner and I taught second grade last year and we used your second grade CCSS Morning Work with our kiddos. They really learned a lot and enjoyed them, too! We are wondering if you have ever considered doing the same type of packet for third grade. We will be teaching a 2/3 Magnet class and we still plan to use your packets with our incoming seconds. In a nutshell, even within a zip file which reduces file sizes, I am limited to 100 MB per download. I am looking at different bundling options due to this. Thank you for your question. Yes, it does teach those standards. I use the GPS as well for this unit and made sure they were covered when designing these activities. Here is a copy/paste from my contents:1. Students will investigate the position of the sun
and moon to show patterns throughout the year.
*Students will explore the position of the sun in relation to a fixed object on earth at various times of the day.
*Students will determine how shadows change through the day by using a sundial.
*Students will relate the length of the day and night to the change in the seasons.
*Students will observe and chart the shape of the moon over a period of time (a month).
2. Students will investigate and understand the reasons for seasons.
*Students will explore the relationship between the earth and sun and why seasons occur and change.

Hi there. Not sure why you are printing everything. You have two versions of the notebook in your download (one color the other black and white). You don't need to print 529 pages. This download includes lots of resources for you to pick and choose from. Just print what works for you and your students. Yes I have tried everything! LOL I have an unzip wizard on my computer that does it and when that didn't work I tried dragging it ontop my desktop. It will not show up in my downloads because it doesn't consider it downloaded until it is unzipped. It really is weird!! Thanks so much for you help!

If you are wondering about using Scholastic poems I would recommend you get permission first as recommended to you in the seller's forum. The fairy tales and fables I have in my packet are "retold" in my own words. The resource materials to check for understanding of other reading materials/books are considered to be support materials much like cliff notes or activities. Hope this helps. I purchased the Common Core for April and I cannot print the language portion,. It has black lines all through it. The math portion printed, but the language is unreadable.

Marilyn, Could you please try to update your Adobe Reader and see if that helps? I printed my packets both at home and at school with no problem. Hi Katje! OH my goodness....no. You don't need to print all 490 pages. The second half of the notebook is a reduced ink option for those not wanting the notebook background. It is a duplicated version. Parts of the download are posters for EQ's, others will be pages for your student's notebooks, others are resources for you. I would recommend you read through the resources to pick and choose which items you would like to use. Most teachers don't use all components...they pick and choose what works best for their students. Let me know if you have questions. Just did the readers theater Goldilocks and on the last page there are two mother bear parts in a row, the second one should be baby bear's part. Thought you may want to change it! Again we love the unit!!

Also, just want to ask (but, I know it is a lot of work to revise anything!), if you would consider making them without such dark borders? I've sort of gotten in trouble for jamming up the copy machine when making copies of them and was told it may be because of all the black on the pages using a lot of ink?? Anyway, just asking! Hi Christine. Thank you for your question. I've provided different types of resources for you to use. I use the one minute tests as practice tests for my kiddos but use the bar graphs for my 5 minute weekly tests that include 100 items. You could use these however you like, though. You could use the graph and mark one minute instead of five and have your students mark a goal line at 35 problems. Hope this helps. Thank you!-Yvonne
