I have twelve previous years of teaching experience, all of it in the same district. I have taught Freshman English (for those who had failed it before), Sophomore English, Junior American Literature, Humanities Block (team-taught with a Social Studies teacher), Honors American Literature, and Science Fiction.
I believe in doing what works, using personal experience and research to constantly improve, refine, and fine-tune my teaching to maximize student engagement and learning.
Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Tau Delta, Pi Lambda Theta.
I attended Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN, where I graduated magna cum laude with an English major and Education minor, then got my Master's in Teaching from Seattle University.
I live in Washington state.
