Another addition to Martha Speaks. If your students do not have the verbal skills to identify the characteristics of Martha Martha Speaks, this can help! I only included 5 characteristics. I also included those same characteristics as flashcards. I reviewed the flashcards with my kids first and they were able to match the pictures. Unfortunately i could not delete the first blank page. However, it does not interfere with the rest of the document.

I have done this in my classroom, as a center, during snack time, even homework. We simply watch a 13 min episode of Martha Speaks on pbskids.org. Each episode features several vocabulary words (I have them listed in this set by season and episode name and number). This is a PREP FREE lesson. You don't even have to make copies. I provided a sample of how I use it on t

This 19 page download is a fun way to celebrate Thanksgiving with your kiddos while incorporating the speaking, listening, and writing Common Core standards. The first part of this download is a classbook activity titled "Mr. Turkey, Mr. Turkey, Won't You Come To Dinner?" A great way to launch this lesson is by reading 'Twas' The Night Before Thanksgiving' by Dav Pilkey and/or 'A Turkey For Thanksgiving' by Eve Bunting. Both books are about turkeys who "escaped" being eaten for Thanksgiving d
This is a word maker activity based on the book Martha Blah Blah, which is part of the Martha Speaks series. In the book, letters are removed from the alphabet soup, making it impossible to understand Martha. Students use the letters that remain in the soup can to form words that Martha would be able to say correctly. PLEASE NOTE: To provide enough room for student work, the activity has been created on legal size 14" paper.
