In this activity, students identify places based on the human characteristics and physical characteristics presented. Some assembly required (I didn't want to violate copyright protections by including pictures) but I have posted a list of major places in the US and around the world. 5 Themes of Geography - Place Introduction Assignment. This assignment has always been a favorite of my social studies students over the years. It allows them to be creative, use emojis, and think about the (physical and/or human) geographical characteristics that make each place unique.
