~About 30 minutes with follow up activities. This is really for drilling form and allows teacher to identify which students are struggling with concept.
This activity drills the pattern of reflexive verbs. -Only AR verbs here.
This should be presented to students as 'drilling the pattern' and you can mention to them that some people fill across rows, focusing on
First, then 2nd, then 3rd person, and some people fill in columns, focusing on the verb stem and building endings and reflexive pronouns around it.
Ask students to describe writing how reflexive verbs are different in FORM and in Meaning (bigger concept) from non reflexive verbs.
Also, as a follow up--if students like to play-- have students cut out a piece of construction paper about the width of one table cell (rectangle) and cover one form of one verb, then show it to a partner with the verb form covered and quiz partner. What verb form am I covering?
