In my search to find activities involving place value relationships, I found very little to address these relationships when the numbers get very large. This game is similar to “Race to 100” for those that are familiar. However, I wanted something to take the students into the millions and billions, and still understand the relationships between the place values. Students need to be able to “describe” and “interpret,” and not just name a place value. I hope your students enjoy the game and I hope it helps their understanding of place value.
