-ed & -et word family fun
bed, red, wed, pen, ten, hen
Word mats-There is one mat per word. Print these on cardstock and laminate. You can cut up the words or use letter tiles to build the words. Put Velcro on the letters (if you use them) and picture cards. Students write the word with the dry erase marker. Use the beginning sounds of the pictures to spell the words. Then find the correct picture to put in the picture box. Then write in the last box.
Word work pages-You can use the cover and make these into a book or just print the pages you need and use one at a time. For each page students trace the word at the top, write it on the two lines, trace the sentence and underline the word, and build the word. Students cut and glue the letters to build the word at the bottom.
Read, glue, write page-This page is meant for a review of all the –ed and –en words. Students look at the picture and cut and glue the word to match the picture, then write it in the last box. I made one for each family and one to review both.
Word/picture match page– This is also meant as a review page. Students read the words and draw lines to connect the word to the correct picture. There is a page for the –en family and one for the –et family. There is also a page that reviews both.
