The spelling patterns of the unaccented final syllables -le, -el, -il and -al can be tricky. This small group or whole class activity provides practice in determining which spelling is correct for 90 words with the /el/ sound in the final position. 8 different bingo boards are included - more than one student can work with the same board since the choices they make will create different outcomes. The familiar bingo format makes this activity easy to play. When shown a word card with the final syllable missing, students sound the word out, determine which spelling is correct, then look at their bingo card for a space with that spelling.
Two word lists are provided - alphabetical (black and white or color) and by spelling pattern..
