This worksheet packet makes a great resource for review and practice of the -own word family that is being taught within the classroom. I use these worksheets as morning work, homework, and Friday “spelling practice.” In this worksheet packet you will receive 6 printables. They are as follow:
*Set of 9 Word Family Cards that can be cut out and used as flashcards. Students are able to color if they choose.
*Word Family Identification Page – students look at the 9 pictures that are provided and choose the 6 that belong in the word family of the week. If it belongs in the word family then they will color the picture and write the word on the line. If it does not belong, they cross it out with an X.
*Cut and Paste Word Family House – students choose the 6 pictures that belong “inside” the word family house. Students color, cut, and paste the pictures inside the house.
*Beginning Sounds Cut and Paste – students are given 6 word family pictures and must choose which beginning sound (located at the bottom of the page) belongs to each picture.
*Alphabetical Order Page – students place 6 of the word family words in alphabetical order.
*Spelling Practice Page – teacher will call out a word family word from the week and students will practice writing the word. Afterwards, students choose one of the words to put into a complete sentence at the bottom of the page.
