"Grej of the day” of GOTD The idea is that you should talk about one thing every day.
Every morning we have a micro-lesson (3 - 4 minutes) about a thing. It can be a person, a place, a thing, a event/incident/occurence/happening/experience.
- It can be a person who have/had great significance for us humans.
- it can be a place that is popular today/was popular. A location that is a mystery.
- One thing that is of great importance, an invention or something special or peculiar to your country / city / community / village.
– It could be an event/incident/occurence/happening/experience that has affected humans
it could be an event that is of great importance for us humans.
All these things may be historical or new. In other words, from ALL time.
We give our students a clue about the "thing" the day before the lesson. They should think about the clue and try to figure out what it is we're going to talk about. They can think about it at home and try to figure it out with their parents.
The lesson starts with introducing the clue once again. Maybe we have more clues to help them figure out the ”thing”.
The the ”thing” presents in a PowerPoint. The PowerPoint contains;
The aim is to arouse curiosity and desire to learn. Knowledge is cool, and knowledge should be fun. The students love this concept.
Now to the project!
I want to try this with other schools in other countries. Every partner come up with one thing (a thing/person/place/event/happening/experince) that is fun to know from your country/town/village, make a PowerPoint starting with a clue (maybe lots of different clues). The PowerPoint shall contain;
In our classroom we have a world map where we mark all our things we talked about.
I hope your children love it!
