This game was created based on the activity many music teachers use where magnets are attached to a ‘pole’ and a paper clip to a fish with a rhythm. The more traditional game didn’t work in my own classroom due to large class sizes so I thought I’d make an interactive game to reach more students!
This file is a PowerPoint file so it will work on any interactive board you have or play it as a station on a computer.
Students choose a fish from the pond which will take them to a fish bowl containing a rhythm made up of quarter notes and eighth notes. Please note that two of the rhythm patterns contain eighth notes that are inverted.
I hope you have found it helpful and please let me know if you have suggestions for improvements! Feed back is appreciated!
Coming soon: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5: ta ti-ti and quarter rest practice!
A bundle of these two games will also be available.
