My students were always curious about what I liked or who I was a big fan of in music, sports, etc. I turned the tables on them and made each have a special week where they got to tell us all about what they liked and what they were the #1 fan of. So, instead of student of the week I had a #1 fan of the week.
I would send this home the Thursday/Friday the week before it was a certain students' week so they had the weekend to work their posters. I made t-shirts out of a bulletin board paper I sent home with students, but you can use whatever you have already bought or like to use.
Since I taught the older grades there was always drama about what mean thing someone had said or done and I was sick of hearing it. That's where the compliment poster came in. There is a small explanation on how I did it in the classroom, but I have also taken a picture of each student, printed it, and put it on construction paper then had the whole class sign it.
Hope you enjoy it!
