This 1.5+ day lesson includes warm-ups for both days along with a conceptual discussion about what a variable represents. It compares numerical expressions and algebraic expressions along with a brief kinesthetic activity to identify different expressions. Translating algebraic expressions into words and translating real world situations into algebraic expressions are also covered. There are many basic animations used so that objects enter at an appropriate time and are not visually distracting.
