There is continuing importance being laid upon getting children to do more physical activity, both in school and at home. The aim of this Powerpoint resource is to give pupils a structured movement break at 10am consisting of 10 exercises.
With time pressure to cover the curriculum, it is not always possible in school to bring pupils outside for a PE lesson/game/movement break. This Powerpoint gets pupils to do 10 simple exercises in the classroom, none of which need any equipment.
The exercise programme is suitable for all class levels and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. It is suggested that each exercise is repeated 10 times. However, as this is a Powerpoint Presentation, the teacher can make alterations by increasing or decreasing the number of repetitions, depending on the age and the ability of the pupils.
When doing this with the pupils in the classroom, run the Powerpoint in “Presentation Mode” so that pupils can see the presentation in full screen.
