This is an interactive and engaging economic program, where students start their own lolly selling business to investigate different economic theories.
Students will examine several economic theories through real world application. We run this fun and exciting research based assignment as part of our Yr 10 economics course, and we let students keep the profits from their sales. We encourage students to run under the economic model of their choosing (some students choose a capitalist model - risking their own funds, but free to make a profit, while others choose a communist model - Teacher buys lollies, with all profits returning to the State). From sourcing their sweets, to selling their products, students have the opportunity in this project to feel what a real business is like.
This is an 11 page research assignment, with detailed marking rubrics, FAQs, and economic theory worksheets and models, aimed at students 14 - 17yrs of age. Marking key for Australian Curriculum. An engaging way to get highschool students excited by economic theory.
