This Animated Step-by-Step Poem is a variation of an action poem used in early childhood programs. In addition to supporting literacy and counting to 10, it can be used to work on colors as each Firefighter has socks of a different color. Please view the preview file (.mov) provided to gain a better appreciation of the quality of the animations and sound effects incorporated into this product. A static version of the poem (no animations) is also provided to allow teachers to review the poem a second time ... possibly incorporating the actions typically associated with the poem (actions are available in numerous variations on web).
This animated step-by-step PowerPoint poem is part of an ongoing series of recipes, crafts and poems designed to serve as a vehicle for reinforcing literacy in the classroom. Although content is primarily designed to capitalize on interactive whiteboard technology, it can also be presented on a laptop as an adult-supervised activity center. In addition to the obvious emphasis on literacy, numerous early math concepts can be easily incorporated as ‘teachable moments’. The series is equally beneficial and engaging for classrooms serving regular and/or special education students. Students learning English as a second language can also benefit from these unique resources.
This file was created using PowerPoint 14.3.5 but appears to function fine on earlier versions of PowerPoint. Please note the downloaded file is a read only PowerPoint Show file (97-2004). It should be compatible with PowerPoint versions 97 to current.
