Each level is on one page. Each page comes with the Level #, a GREAT picture, the common name and scientific name of each animal!!
I use these levels for what I call a “Super Improvers Wall”. The idea for a ‘Super Improvers Wall’ came from a great website, resource, and pedagogy of fun at ‘Whole Brain Teaching’ (http://www.wholebrainteaching.com). There are so many different ways you could use these levels.
The way I have come to show what level the students are on is to cut a 3 X 5 notecard in half. The color of the level is the color they put on the outside of the notecard. They write their names on the notecard. I simply thumb tack them onto the wall. Each time they “Level Up” they get a new notecard that replaces the one from the level before.
This can be done with many students! I teach middle school science and have 150 half notecards on my wall right now! I have my middle school students tape or staple their old levels to the back of their Interactive Notebooks
