This collection of 10 warm-up journals will get students thinking directly and indirectly about the big topics covered in Lois Lowry's powerful novel. While some journals are definitely meant to be used following the reading of a specific chapter, the majority are able to be used at any point during the instructional unit.
From examining the roles of female characters to crafting a "job description" that mimics the one Jonas receives, students will put on their critical thinking caps and their responses will lead to next-level classroom discussions!
As with all products under the Literary Luminaries banner, these warm-ups were developed by a teacher and used in a classroom, so they've been tested and then refined to get better results.
