Emergent reader to coordinate with the 100th Day of School. Short story with a repetitive pattern to new readers. Students will have an opportunity to practice encoding skills as they fill in the blank on each page. " I would wear 100 _____ on my head."
Tip! There are two books per page. Print front and back with the Booklet setting for the staples as the output Then all you have to do is cut them in half with the paper cutter. Voila!
OPTIONAL: Student signature page on the last page in book. It can be omitted if you choose. Instructional Routine: After teaching a reader I always have my students read to 3 friends. This gives my students practice with fluency and new skills that have been taught with the story. I always have the student that listened to their friend read sign the back as verification (and, of course, name writing practice ;) shhh! )
*Routine adopted from Kathy Brown and Sarah Martino (Can You Read It Yes We Can)
