Here is a journal that can be used for morning work or during literacy time for the first 100 days of school. The pages contain a writing prompt for each day, with one day of each week left blank for a "free choice" day. The pages are also numbered to help keep you on track. The beginning of the year has larger writing lines and then after Thanksgiving break the lines are smaller to accommodate student growth in writing. This journal covers several Common Core Language Standards as well.
My students have enjoyed using this each year and their parents LOVE having a keepsake of their first grade writing journey!
The preview contains the cover page and the 100's grid to put at the front of the journal. Directions are also included in the preview.
I copy this journal double-sided and 3-hole punched. Then I put the journal into a 3-prong folder with a label on the front cover. I use the folders that are 15 cents at the Back to School sales at WalMart and Target.
*****Updated June 2014*****
I have edited the pages to gradually decrease the size of the writing lines throughout the year as your firsties become better at fine motor control and can write on smaller lines.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions before purchasing.
