In Kindergarten students are expected to both be able to count to 100 and then learn 100 sight words. I used the poster maker at my school and printed this off and laminated it. Then I added enough velcro dots for my students and print out wallet sized pictures of them. At the beginning of the year as they are able to count to 100 their picture goes up on the chart, when everyone has been able to count to 100 we take all of the pictures down and they have to know 100 sight words to get on the chart.
You may be wondering what their motivation is for getting on the chart. It can be anything you choose, but in my class everyone who makes the 100's club gets to come back to the classroom every Friday for lunch and talk with the teacher and watch a movie.
This has been very helpful for me for the last 3 years getting my students to work harder to learn their sight words and how to count to 100.
