Young kids do not have a concept of how much $100 is. Many think they can buy anything with $100. This project will help them understand how far $100 goes and will give them practice manipulating numbers 1-100 in the process.
-Give each student a budget sheet and a spending sheet.
-Give each student (or group) a copy of the “Store” pages.
-Let them shop and decide how they want to spend their $100.
-When they choose an item, they must record it on the recording sheet (or for younger learners, have them cut out each picture) and cut out the dollar bills that match the cost.
-Each person can spend their $100 (100 one dollar bills displayed inside 10 - ten frames) however they wish.
