On the 100th day of school, have students celebrate by participating in this STEAM activity! First, have students talk about what types of items were used 100 years ago and how different they are from today. Then have students think about 100 years from now!
After talking as a class, have each student decide on their own "100 Years From Now" invention. They will make a model out of materials (toothpicks, rubber bands, tape, cardstock, paper clips, etc), then record their invention by drawing a blueprint and writing about it.
Instructions and recording sheet are included here for your use! The instructions could be posted on any SmartBoard or document camera for all students to use.
