Product Description
Students will have 10 jobs that they must complete. The jobs will all be
content related. Each job is on a $10 bill. When they finish the job described
on the $10 bill it will be verified by the teacher or volunteer. Each $10 bill will
enable them to go to the snack store set up in the classroom.
Every time they finish a job they will have $10 to go spend, so they can make
10 trips to the store. They can purchase whatever they want at the store.
I suggest having 10 bowls out with different snack items in each bowl. I
also seek family involvement in sending in the snacks. Some students will
want a big variety of items while others might just want one or two different
things in their baggie. Each trip to the store with $10 enables the student to
purchase 10 snack items to place in their bag. No eating allowed until all
jobs have been completed! I use this activity to also teach, Needs and Wants,
Spending Money, Supply and Demand, and Scarcity. Some bowls might
empty out before others, stop and talk about supply, demand, and scarcity when this happens.
