### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Please note that this is an UPDATED (as of 10/15/14) pack.

Differentiated Centers

This pack was created to support independent activities for the math block. This pack contains eleven different activities, eight of which are differentiated. However, counted individually, this pack has twenty-three activities.

Teachers can use the skills to differentiate for students by difficulty level, or can have students complete all levels of the task, so the centers last for several weeks and scaffold upon themselves. The centers could also be used for differentiation in guided math groups. All activities include a recording sheet for student accountability. The cover sheets and directions are available in color or black and white. All the center pieces are in black in white to save printing costs.

Please note that some activities require additional materials such as centimeter rulers.

Centers Included in this Pack:

-Adding with Place Value- Students match four cards to show adding with place value (the sum, base ten blocks, the number sentences, and then the addition sentence for adding with place value). There are three versions: adding without regrouping, adding with regrouping, and adding with and without regrouping.

-Skippy the Skip Counting Pumpkin- Students draw a card with a number line with a pattern (increasing or decreasing). Students solve to find the missing number. There are five versions of this game: skip counting by 2’s, 5’s, 10’s, 100’,s and then a mixture.

-Measuring Monsters- Students draw a card and measure the monster to the nearest centimeter. There are two versions of this activity. The first version includes monsters with no guideline to measure. The second version includes a monster with a guideline for easier measuring.

-Measuring in the Real World- Students draw a card and decide if the picture on the card should be measured in meters or centimeters. This is NOT a differentiated activity.

-Making Monstrous Ten- Students sort cards to determine if the cards add to create ten or not. Two different versions of this activity are included. In the first activity, students sort cards with ten frames. In the second activity, students sort cards with number sentences.

-Place Value Puzzles- Students put together candy corn puzzles to review place value. There are three versions of this activity. In the first activity, students match standard form, expanded form, and base ten blocks for two digit numbers. In the second activity, students match standard form, expanded form, and base ten blocks for three digit numbers. In the third activity, students match regrouping riddles with the blocks.

-Pumpkin Patch Time- Students match time puzzles with the digital time, analog time, and time in word form. There are three versions of this activity: time to the hour, half hour, and five minutes.

-Beastly Word Problems- Students complete addition word problems within 100. There are three different versions included: adding without regrouping, adding with regrouping, and adding with and without regrouping.

-Web Full of Coins- Students match puzzles that show the coins, the amount written with a \$, and the amount written with a ¢. This is NOT a differentiated activity.

-Sunny Money Problems- Students draw a card with a money word problem within \$1.00 and solve. There are two versions of this activity: problems with coin pictures as clues and cards without pictures.

-Falling into Number Sense- This activity is organized slightly different than the other activities in this pack. Students draw a card with a number on it and then record one more/ one less, ten more/ ten less, or a hundred more/ hundred less. There are two versions of this game. One version includes cards with two digit numbers and two different recording sheets: record one more/ one less, ten more/ ten less. The second version includes three digit numbers and three recording sheets one more/ one less, ten more/ ten less, and a hundred more/ hundred less. The teacher can reuse the cards multiple times with a different recording sheet to create a new center. The combinations are endless (well, almost)! 
