Worried my 2nd grade students won't be doing any "brain-work" over the holidays, I came up with this 2-page document. There are six problems (math, social studies, ELA, etc.) on each page. I printed one page in red for each student and one page in green for each student. Then, students cut out each strip/problem and made alternating red/green chains with the problems (using tape). I e-mailed parents to let them know they should ask their child one of the problems each day of the holiday break (with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year's Day). This is just for fun--not homework! My students were excited about this and look forward to tearing each chain off!
