Hi there, why not start your own store?
A 15 week Design Program
Guiding HSC Design Students on how to:
Research a need
Focus on meeting that need.
Research sketch and develop viable ideas.
Evaluate the best idea (the one they will be able to make whether it is a model, prototype, software or product).
Make the idea into a viable product.
Evaluate how it went.
This design process will help any student create a software, marketing plan, food product, electronic circuit, robot, wood project, dress for fashion, youtube channel, business etc. It is amazing the scope of ideas you can put into action based on your students strengths.
I love teaching this, its my favourite seeing my students overcome challenges to bring their idea into a reality.
identification and exploration of the need
areas of investigation
criteria to evaluate success
action, time and finance plans and their application
evidence of creativity – ideas generation, degree of
difference and exploration of existing ideas
consideration of design factors relevant to the Major
appropriate research and experimentation of materials,
tools, techniques and testing of design solutions
application of conclusions
identification and justification of ideas and resources
use of communication and presentation techniques
evidence and application of practical skills to produce
a quality project
Evaluation record and application of evaluation procedures
throughout the design project
analysis and evaluation of functional and aesthetic
aspects of design
final evaluation with respect to the project's impact on
the individual, society and the environment
relationship of the final product, system or
environment to the project proposal
What is a folio?
The physical folio is typed document usually presented in a clear plastic sleeve folder that shows the research, conceptualisation, development and evaluation of a project. The folio can also be a pdf or a multimedia presentation as long as addresses the process the designer went from need identification through to the making of the actual item.
