Students can practice adding and subtracting 1 and 10 on a 120 chart in this fun, spring-themed game.
Initially, students may count by one, but over time, students should learn to move right and left to add and subtract one and to move down and up to add and subtract ten.
* 120 chart game board
* 40 bug cards (10 different bugs, duplicates included)
Color and black and white versions available
Additional Items Needed
* small objects for player tokens (cm cubes recommended)
* paperclip and pencil for the spinner
How to Play:
Students will begin by placing their tokens on any highlighted square in the middle of the 120 chart.
Players will take turns spinning the spinner and following the directions on the spinner. They will either add 1, subtract 1, add 10 or subtract 10.
If players land on a net on their turn, they will collect 1 bug card.
If players cannot complete their move because of their location on the board, they can either lose a turn or return their token to one of the highlighted squares.
The player with the most bug cards at the end of the game wins!
