This zipped folder contains a PDF file with 120 different extra time writing and drawing prompts that can be printed on return address lables for students to stick to their art journal or sketchbook. Also included is a PDF slide presentation to demonstrate steps and expectations for students.
These labels prompts can be used to better manage student free time and to answer the frequently asked question, “I’m finished, now what do I do?” They are perfect for when some students have completed their art while the rest of the class needs more time.
The prompts can be printed on Avery return address labels, (30 per page sheets). An alternative option would be to print on copy paper, cut the prompts, place in a jar for students to randomly pick, and then use a glue stick to attach to the page.
The labels are written for an elementary audience. Below are a couple sample prompts to see if these are appropriate for your students:
"If you could be any animal what would you be? Draw it!"
"What does the color blue remind you of? Draw and color as many things as you can think of."
"Create a forest scene using only rectangles and triangles."
