This game was created to help students learn about the thirteen original colonies (Massachusetts Bay Colony, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Maryland, and Virginia). There are 81 questions that ask about the main produce/occupations of the colonists, who founded the colony, why the colony was founded, along with other interesting facts. Questions require students to know vocabulary like Anne Hutchinson, Roger Williams, William Bradford, William Penn, Wampanoag, puritans, Pilgrims, proprietors, plantations, slavery, religious freedom, etc. Students move their game piece around the board and answer questions on an answer sheet. The answers to the questions are provided along with the student answer sheet. I have found that the game works better if you laminate/back the cards on construction paper. I use this game for my 7th - 9th grade special education classroom, but it would work for inclusion or typical classrooms as well. I have included several blank question cards so you can add your own questions if you want.
