Students get to create, write, and act out a television commercial that would attract people in Britain to come to live in America. (We are imagining that television had been invented during the colonial period!) Students will focus on one specific colony and gather detailed information about it. They will choose parts, write a commercial script, practice the commercial, and later can even be filmed while acting it out.
The commercial will include information about the benefits of coming to the colonies and what the colonies were like. Students will find the climate, industries (jobs), religions, freedoms, food, recreational activities, and anything else of importance about the colony.
A background of the colonies, directions, and planning sheet are included.
