This is for a WHOLE unit on the Colonies and Taxes Unit. I sell the items individually (see my store to see examples of the assignment and Power Point that you would be purchasing), however, this is a highly discounted price since it is a large bundle. Make sure you do not purchase my Power Point separately because the same PowerPoint is posted here are well.
This has everything you will need to teach the Colonies and Taxes Unit. In this Unit I included the following main topics:
13 Colonies (by region)
French and Indian War
Boston Tea Party
Committee of Correspondence
I have used this with Middle and High school students and it works great for both levels.
You will get the following items:
Power Point on the Colonies and Taxes
An extra Power Point that has more details in the notes, though there is not matching notes to go along with this. There are many of the same slides as the PPT above, but this has more information.
Notes that go along with the PowerPoint
Guided Notes for the students to go along with the Power Point
Homework that matches the Power Point (called the Objective and Vocabulary Sheet)
Lesson Test (2 Versions)
13 colonies assignment and handout
Colonies Chart and Mapping Assignment
Wars and Taxes Assignment
13 colonies Create a Flag (Group Project)
Causes of the Revolutionary War Project (Footsteps Project)
Creating A Nation Project
Bell Ringer- Boston Massacre
Mapping Assignment (Continents, Oceans and United States)
Who's Who and What's What of the Colonial Era Assignment
Who's Who and What's What about the Causes of the Rev. War Assignment
I have created a Unit Plan for these items to show you how I would use these in my classroom. This is just an outline and you can add or take away what would work for you in your classroom. The Unit Plan allows for 15 class periods of 50 mins each.
I break the Power Point/Notes into Objective numbers, for example Objective #1 covers 1st the 13 colonies, Objective #2 covers Slave Trade (Triangular Trade etc). This keeps it manageable for the students and teacher; thus, students know what was learned on each day.
I have used this unit many, many times and have GREAT success with student’s retention of material.
