This is a set of 20 comprehension questions to go along with the book "14 Cows for America" by Wilson Kimeli Naiyomah. The story is about a Maasai boy from Kenya who while going to college in America is deeply affected by the events of 9/11. He returns to his tribe in Kenya and decides to do something to comfort the Americans. He and his tribe donate 14 cows to America. Students learn that "there is no nation so powerful it can't be wounded nor a people so small they cannot offer might comfort." These questions allow students to demonstrate their comprehension of the story. This can be used after read alouds or by students who read the book independently.
