1.4 Limits at Infinity
This is the fourth lesson in the Limits Unit. The lesson contains Guided Notes, homework, SmartBoard lesson, and all solutions. Don’t forget the added bonus of a math joke embedded into the Smartboard lesson ☺! You may have also opted to purchase the video lesson to the notes.
In this lesson students will be taught six different ways they may encounter limits as they approach positive or negative infinity. They will understand that limits at infinity means to determine the end behavior of a graph and how to determine a horizontal asymptote. Students will learn about the “shortcuts” top heavy, bottom heavy, and even. They will also learn how to find limits at infinity with radicals and trigonometric functions.
I hope you find the notes easy to follow. Please feel free to offer any suggestions on how to make them better as well! Through a community of collaboration, we can find that “sweet spot” for our students and their learning process.
All the best,
