Students identify the next two terms of Sequences to solve a riddle. The sequences are arithmetic, geometric or neither. Students do not need to be familiar with those vocabulary terms to complete the activity successfully. Several of the items are symbolic using icons only.
★ This is a good activity to reinforce pattern recognition and intuition, as it doesn't require much in the way of numeric calculation (although students may find a calulator useful). Students enjoy this activity as a nice break from using formulas or algorithms to solve problems.
