Product Description
I developed this handout for my students after I found conflicting information in grammar books and online handouts about how and when to use commas in an essay. I took all pertinent information and combined it into one comprehensive handout, which highlights the 15 most important rules for commas. This includes the 2-page handout for students to fill in during teacher instruction, and the 3-page teacher guide, which includes definitions and example sentences.

There are some grammar and writing books that include other comma rules, such as multiple adverbs, but I have chosen to exclude those because I don't think they address proper grammar issues or are too insignificant or rare to be necessary. However, if you disagree, please let me know and I will update my item.

This was originally designed for high school students, grades 9-10.
