A Makerspace is a place where students use common classroom materials such as tape, glue, hot glue, paper, paper towel rolls, markers, straws, craftsticks, and cardboards to create amazing projects. You can also ask students to bring recyclables from home to have extra usable material such as: buttons, ribbon, paint, pipe cleaners, brushes, pins, sequins, empty cardboard boxes, etc...
In the Makerspace, students pair up or work individually to create projects using the materials available to them. It is a space where students are able to think, design, plan, create, and innovate to create amazing things!
This document contains 16 challenge cards for Makerspace projects. My students have been having lots of fun using them. The projects are fun to do and can be as challenging as your students make them to be.
Recommended grade levels: 1st to 5th.
