Product Description
Should the U.S. go to war with Britain? That is the focus question of this two-day simulation and problem-solving activity.

Students are broken up into seven different groups-each representing a different interest group from the time period (such as sailors, slave owners and merchants).

Each student group reads the description of their interest groups' opinion. They determine whether or not their group would have supported a declaration of war against Britain in 1812.

Each student group will present their findings to the class. Students actively take notes about each group's opinion using organizer provided. A teacher key for the organizer is included. To conclude the simulation, students complete a culminating writing activity.
