This project is in a tic-tac-toe format...what does that mean? Students choose from nine assignments, but they have to choose three in a row! Assignments are organized in the grid so that all students will have to complete some academic writing, but there are also opportunities for art, music, and other creative endeavors. Students are also asked to present one of the components of their project.
All of the assignments reflect major themes of the 1920s including: Prohibition, immigration and nativism, flappers and women's changing role, the growth of a consumer society, and the impact of radio. The tic-tac-toe grid comes in regular and "honors" level versions and extra rubrics are include. This project will have your students excited about the 1920s and eager to share what they have learned.
