If you are looking for SECOND SEMESTER OF US HISTORY click here.

I teach this in 30 minute increments through the course of a couple of days. I have included the videos as well so that you can embed them in the PPT and show the students instead of just telling them.

My PPT's are highly engaging for the students with questions all the way through regarding real life situations with decisions that they will one day have to take a stance on. (36 slides)

I have also included a sheet for the students to take notes on so they will track with you as you go through it.

Lastly I have included my chapter preview sheet that I use with every chapter so that the students actually look through the book and at least see the headings and pictures in the book. I included both the ADD one and the OCD one. I give the students the option on which one they want to use.

This lesson will come with 13 videos. I could only fit a couple of them in the download so you will have to email me for the google drive link.

IRON JAWED ANGEL: One of the videos is a 17" cut of the movie Iron Jawed Angel and is amazing. Perfect amount of time to show what these ladies went through at the turn of the century.

0. Daily Plans These are my daily plans for what I use. I know there is way more in this bundle than you could possibly teach within 2 weeks.

- 1. Chapter Preview Sheet Pass out Chapter Preview sheets to have students observe the pictures and the headings in the chapter.

- 2. 1920's Presentation Begin the 1920's Presentation and pass out the notes sheet that goes with it. I like to break this up into a couple of days as I like to explain it so the students have a baseline of information.

- 3. Fun Facts Prohibition fun facts. This is a good time to talk about the history of Prohibition as I have given all sorts of options for this. Feel free to cut and paste as you choose.

- 4. Sacco and Vanzetti Sacco and Vanzetti lesson. I have the students evaluate the case of Sacco and Vanzetti and try to determine from the evidence if they were guilty of innocent. This is a self contained lesson and the students really like looking at it. Feel free to extend it or have students work in groups as it is more fun for them.

- 5. Crash Course Crash Course for the 1920's and Women's Suffrage.

1. Note Taking Guide for Students: This is essentially a blank section to take notes in.

2. Summary of the Video: A place for the students to write a short summary of what they have watched.

3. Teacher Notes from the: My 1 page of notes.

4. Vocabulary Section: I have chosen 3 words that would be good to have the students look up. I also have them write each of the words in a sentence.

5. Quiz for students / with answers: There is a 10 question quiz with answers from the episode. It can be taken in class or taken home. I think in class would be better.

6. Blank Template for student created quiz: I decided to add this to every Crash Course guide as it works really well with students.

**Also, I highly recommend having the students watch this on .5 speed. If you click the wheel on the bottom of the youtube video you can adjust the speed.

1920's Crash Course

- 6. Discussion Questions Feel free to use as many or as little of these as you would like. I have had the students do them prior to class and have had them complete them in class. I think it works best if they work on them for 20 minutes and then discuss them for 20 minutes.

- 7. Test and Review Sheet Test and review sheet for the unit.

- 8. Paragraph Prompts – These some good ideas to have your students write about during the course of the year. They are apart of my free download that is in my store.

- 9. Story of US: I am including the Story of US Bust Episode. It contains the short and long versions of the guide.

- 10. Commie Hunt Simulation - This is one of the best things I do during the course of this unit. I the chapter off with this and it goes amazingly well. The directions are clear and the PPT is included that goes with the simulation.

- 11. Flipped classroom 2 page guide - This allows the students to work through the PPT with assistance.
