This is an activity I use in my high school classroom during a unit on the 1920's. Students are given a copy of the "Jazz Age Glossary" handout to review. The included worksheet includes two assignments. The first assignment involves students matching a given definition to the 1920's slang term and supplying a more modern slang term that is used for the same definition. The second assignment is a 1920's case study activity. Students are given 2 brief scenarios (one is related to fundamentalism and evolution and the other scenario is related to the Harlem Renaissance). There are 6 follow-up questions that get students to explain how they would feel about the scenarios.
Included in this resource is the "Jazz Age Glossary" handout and the corresponding worksheet for students.
