After learning about the post-WW2 "boom", students engage in a group project where they create a television advertisement using the styles and themes of the time period.
Students are given a list of topics to choose from, such as helping re-elect Dwight Eisenhower, showing off one of the new automobiles, or creating a trailer for the newest James Dean movie.
Included in this document are the project requirements and a timeline as well. Students are required to create 'storyboards' of their TV advertisement and examples of these are provided. In addition, students must create a script prior to filming their advertisement. Afterward, students "vote" on the best advertisements using forms provided. Finally, a rubric for assessment is included.
