Taboo Cards are a very cool resource which you can use to encourage your students to practise speaking. Apart from revising loads of vocab, your students will have to use different phrases to explain what a particular card shows. The Taboo Cards Pack below contains 198 cards with lots of words from different categories. Scroll down to learn more about the cards.
Each taboo card is colourful and contains a picture. The pictures are useful to help kids understand the meaning of the words that they need to explain. Each card also contains four words which cannot be used while playing. The vocabulary ranges from food to festivals. Here's a list of vocabulary the cards include: farm animals, wild animals, insects, fruit, vegetables, sweets, fast food, school equipment, places in town, household objects, jobs, everyday activities, hobbies, Christmas vocabulary, Easter vocabulary, Halloween vocabulary and much more.
Depending on the level of my students, I sometimes allow them to use one or two of the taboo words to make the game a bit easier and more fun to play.
