This packet contains four ready-to-print activities for skill reinforcement after reading George Orwell's 1984.
--Creative project (instruction sheet and rubric) that has students create their own government and present it to the class
--Persuasive essay prompt (does our current society resemble that in 1984?)
--2 short answer questions with response boxes in standardized test form
--Printable page of big, thematic discussion questions (two per page) ready for group or pair class discussions
I have used each of these with my students over the years when reading 1984. More than ever, this book is resonating with students today. These activities are designed to make students think and reflect on not only the literature, but how it relates to our own experiences and surroundings. This is one of my favorite novels to teach, and the creative project and persuasive essays are always wonderful to see and read from my students.
Make sure to check out my other products! I will be adding new high school English projects and assignments as I get them formatted for Teachers Pay Teachers. Thanks for looking, and happy teaching!
