This resource contains a detailed collection of project ideas for each of the three books in George Orwell's 1984. For each of the books, the students need to find an article related to concepts from the novel (there are a list of ideas for each) and complete a review, complete a writing assignment, and create a visual. These assignments are fun, but reinforce the important concepts from the novel.
The resource includes the templates needed for the article review, the Winston and Julia dating profile, and the Lonely Planet Guide to Oceania, as well as an editable rubric.
It takes about two days for the students to work in small groups to complete each set of activities following each of the three books within the novel. You can also condense this assignment and have students complete the whole thing after they finished the entire novel. Either way, this detailed selection of projects won't disappoint. They are easy to grade, and the students will make interesting, creative products!
