Product Description
Created with Word.
This product is an 80 point test to be administered at the end of discussion of Section 1 of Orwell's 1984. There are 10 matching groups to their description (outer Party, patrols, Anti-Sex League),15 matching character to a quoted description (O'Brien, Charrington, Katharine). Twenty eight short answer questions: slogans, principles of Ingsoc, Ministries, propaganda, and Two-Minutes Hate. There are 10 terms to be defined (facecrime, ownlife, duckspeak). Finally, there are three mini-essays:The family in Oceania, doublethink, and the Party's theory on intimacy. Key is included. As a bonus, I've included an out-of-class essay prompt where students choose a topic: propaganda, intimacy, or mutability of the past and compose a thesis statement and develop the essay with at least three main points, illustrating with text and including MLA citations. Thank you for consideration of this product. I hope you'll visit my store for other 1984 activities including individual chapter worksheets and particularly popular graphic organizers and an accompanying PowerPoint presentation for Goldstein's book. Enjoy!
Just posted a bundled 1984 unit to my store. It will save you a lot of time. Please have a look.
