This assignment provides a chart displaying the parallel tenets of the dystopian societies in 1984 and Brave New World.
---Proles: Savages, etc.
Students are required to discuss
---the implementation of practices to stabilize the societies,
---how the practice is sustained and
---the effectiveness of the practice.
Students must then discuss what was occurring in Orwell's and in Huxley's world that inspired the authors to create these settings.
Students must then discuss how accurate authors were in predicting the future by pointing out fulfilled prophecies in today's society.
Finally, students must discuss the importance of the authors' messages and how today's world should respond to them.
