The 19th Century Reform Movements are an important part of American History because some of the social problems addressed then are still being addressed by American Society today. I used to cover them quickly so students could see the fight for equality and fair treatment of all people has been around for a long time.
This mini-lesson is one that will allow the students a brief look into 19th Century Reform Movements. All parts of the mini-lesson can be completed in four days or even less if students work with already completed charts or homework is assigned. The 3 parts of the mini-lesson are: reform charts, student questions & a reform movement poster.
Reform Movements included:
2nd Great Awakening
Child Labor Reforms
Prison and Mental Asylum Reforms
