This past year, there were several instances in which I needed a pre AND a post test for each standard. I usually had a pre-assessment available, but not an “already made” post assessment. In this pack, I have created a pre AND a post assessment for each standard in the Language strand. The focus of these assessments is on the writing aspect of this strand. Most pre and post assessments are on one sheet. You will find that some are not because they contain too much content. When my students are taking an assessment, if necessary, I have them fold the paper in half so that they can only see the side I am testing them on. Sometimes I have them cut it in half depending on the length of the unit I am teaching or if I need to use an assessment as an evidence piece. I can easily grade each assessment and mark it as “Mastered,” “Needs more practice,” or “No understanding.” Information can be recorded on the data sheets provided.
Included in this pack you will find a whole class data recording sheet as well as an individual monitoring student progress form. The rest of the pack contains a pre-assessment and a post assessment for each of the follow standards:
a. Print all upper and lowercase letters.
