In this file, there are 25 editable problem solving documents. I usually teach one per week, starting the 4th week of school. Some can be used for two weeks when the values are changed. The following is my problem solving model:
Monday: Introduce problem. NUMBERS ARE BLACKED OUT/BLANK. Discuss comprehension.
Tuesday: Review problem, numbers are still blacked out, discuss possible strategies.
Wednesday: Reveal numbers, students solve
Thursday: Discuss solution, extend/challenge.
